This course is designed to educate you on the basic estate planning principles. The course begins with an explanation of the “four unintended heirs”, explains why most estate plans simply do not work, discusses the different approaches used by estate planning attorneys, describes our approach to estate planning with clients, and then focuses on a discussion about the benefits of using a trust in the event you become disabled, and finishes up with an explanation of the benefits of using a trust to maximize the use of the Unified Credit (Estate Tax deduction). • Asset Protection Planning (2 hour course) FREE
This course explains the use of advanced planning techniques to provide the client with asset protection from the claims of creditors and predators. By following the concept of divide and conquer this course explains the process of establishing different entities which can provide increasing levels of asset protection. The course covers the use of Limited Liability Companies, Family Limited Partnerships, and other entities and what each of these entities provides in the way of asset protection. The course is approved for 2 hours of intermediate level continuing education credit for Insurance Professionals, Certified Financial Planners, and CPAs.
• Medicaid Planning (3 hour course) FREE
This course explains what a person needs to do in order to qualify for Medicaid. Medicaid has a variety of programs to help those who qualify pay for such things as healthcare, prescriptions, and long term care. All of these programs fall under the umbrella of Social Security. The main difference between “regular Social Security” and Medicaid is that everyone gets Social Security but you have to qualify for Medicaid. The qualification process focuses on three areas (1) medical qualification, (2) asset qualification, and (3) income qualification. Anyone of the three can cause you to be disqualified. The course is approved for 3 hours of intermediate level continuing education credit for Insurance Professionals, Certified Financial Planners, and CPAs.
• Ethical Considerations for Insurance Agents (3 hour course) FREE
This is an approved course on ethics for insurance professionals. The course is offer to satisfy the semi-annual requirement from the Florida Department of Insurance that every agent receive instruction in the area of ethics. The course is approved for 3 hours of intermediate level continuing education credit for Insurance Professionals.
